2026 – A Year of Elevation
With a heart of thanksgiving, I welcome you to Red Hill Baptist Church. We invite you to worship with us and as our motto says, “Come Grow With Us”.
Every church has a story, and our story is a testimony of God's amazing grace. Through the years, Red Hill Baptist Church has remained a place where lives have been transformed through the preaching of God's Word, heartfelt worship, faithful service, and genuine love for people.
Our church has experienced seasons of challenges and seasons of blessings, yet God's hand has remained upon this ministry, and by His grace He continues to elevate us for His service. As we embrace “A Year of Elevation”, let us move forward in faith, united in purpose and confident that God is leading us to greater heights. Together, we celebrate His faithfulness, serve with excellence, and trust Him for an even brighter future through His Son Jesus Christ and the guidance of His Holy Spirit.
As we continue to embrace our season of elevation in Christ, we’re experiencing a growth in worship attendance, growth in church membership, increased financial stability, expanded ministry opportunities, faithful servant leaders, stronger community outreach, commitment to biblical teaching, and a strong evangelism and discipleship to reach the masses.
Let us move forward together; with one heart, one vision, and one purpose to glorify God, strengthen His Church, and share the love of Christ with our community. As we continue to trust Him, we believe that the best is not behind us, it is before us. To God be all the glory for the great things He has done, is doing, and will continue to do through Red Hill Baptist Church.

3 John 1:2 lays out the order of our increase. "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." Growth of our inner man everything else falls into place.
We strive to be an example of health as the children of Judah in the book of Daniel, who after 10 days countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.
Duet. 28:3-6 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. Need we say more?

Remembering our past for this current age while building for the future
In 1775, the Congaree Baptist Church was established and remains today in the same location where our forefathers attended until 1868. At that time in our history, the slaves attended the same church as their slave owners. In 1868, five hundred Black members left the Congaree Baptist Church and organized the Red Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Jonas Anchrom. Accommodations for members were not adequate, however, Reverend Jonas Anchrom served the people faithfully in a vacant house about three miles from the present location on a little red clay knoll; thereby, the church was named Red Hill Baptist Church.
In 1871, Red Hill joined the Gethsemane Association Upper Division. After five years, they joined the Pee Dee Association in 1877. Reverend Anchrom died on Sunday, February 25, 1877 while delivering his message from the pulpit. Some of the first known deacons were James Scott, Joseph Lowe, John J. Hoff, Simon Haynes, Benjamin Hamilton, William Shiver, Steven S. Cochran, and Lewis W. James. Deacon L. James was also the church clerk. Deacon Cochran later became a Minister.
After the death of Reverend Anchrom, Rev. Steven S. Cochran became the second pastor... [more]
