The new converts are at their most vulnerable step in their Christian walk when they make a commitment to become save. When Jesus told the story of the lost sheep in Luke 15, he said in verse 5-7 “And when he has found it (sheep), he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost! I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”

The new members’ teachers are as the Shepherd who found the lost sheep. He must make sure that the new convert (sheep) understands the importance of being a part of the family of God by, “… rightly dividing the word of truth… 2 Timothy 2:15.” The Great Commission Jesus gave to his disciples was to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of; the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20) The teaching of the new members will be the result of much rejoicing in heaven because they will be able to go out and minister to others about the things they were taught.
